New Patients

We are currently accepting new patients into our practice.   To schedule a first appointment, please call the office at 703-437-5532.  

To ensure you receive a membership slot in our practice, we encourage you to go ahead and Sign Up via our website or call a Privia Membership Advisor during normal business hours at 888.774.8428.   Privia will also assist you in scheduling your first appointment.

Appointments

We accept appointments daily. Please arrive 5-10 minutes prior to your appointment time in order to maintain a smooth flow of patients. Patients who arrive 15 minutes past their appointment time may be asked to reschedule. For scheduling purposes, there are several types of appointments.

  • A "follow up" is a 15 minute focused appointment to evaluate 1-2 new problems or to check on the progress of established chronic illnesses such as diabetes, high blood pressure, or high cholesterol.
  • A "physical exam" is a 30 minute comprehensive health maintenance exam focusing on preventive care and usually accompanied by blood work and/or any other tests deemed necessary. The frequency of these exams is individualized and to be determined by you and your physician.
    • Women may also choose to have their pap smears performed and mammograms ordered during these visits.
    • New patients to the practice are typically asked to schedule this type of appointment initially in order to review past history and get acquainted.

Prescription Refills

If your prescription has expired then most likely you are due for an office visit. We will only renew prescriptions if a patient has been seen for that medical condition within the past six months. If the patient has not had an office visit in that period of time then an office visit will need to be scheduled in order to validate the need for the medication. We are sorry but we cannot call in prescriptions for a patient after the office visit nor are we able to fax the prescription to the pharmacy or mail order companies.

If you are a Privia member, you can may request prescription refills, request appointments, access your personal health record, or send a secure message to your doctor by logging in to your member website.

In emergency situations, we will refill non-controlled substance prescriptions after hours.
