For scheduling purposes, there are several types of appointments.

A "follow up" is a 15 minute focused appointment to evaluate 1-2 new problems or to check on the progress of established chronic illnesses such as diabetes, high blood pressure, or high cholesterol.

A "physical exam" is a 30 minute comprehensive health maintenance exam focusing on preventive care and usually accompanied by blood work and/or any other tests deemed necessary. Women may also choose to have their pap smears performed and mammograms ordered during these visits. New patients to the practice are typically asked to schedule this type of appointment initially in order to review past history and get acquainted. The frequency of these exams is individualized and to be determined by you and your physician.

Please arrive 5-10 minutes prior to your appointment time in order to maintain a smooth flow of patients. Patients who arrive 15 minutes past their appointment time may be asked to reschedule.
